UP Baguio’s Certificate in Fine Arts (Visual Arts) program was instituted in 2005. The Certificate in Fine Arts (CFA) program was a revision of the former Certificate in Visual Arts (CVA) program which had a major in Painting or Visual Communication, which originated from the Certificate in Fine Arts major in Painting program adopted from UP Diliman in 1985.
The CFA program is a 3-year program that introduces the student to various areas of the visual arts. Designed to tap the indigenous cultures of Northern Luzon as sources of artistic inspiration, it provides many opportunities to utilize alternative sources of materials for art production. A CFA student can proceed to the BFA upon completion of the certificate program.
