[Sensing Form for FA 141 - Production for Electronic Media] The UPB FA Program would like to gauge the interest of UPB undergrad students who are non-Fine Arts majors in taking FA 141 Production for Electronic Media as their Free Elective this Midyear (2025). While the course has prerequisite majors, it also has a Consent of Instructor (COI) option. This allows those who already have the necessary skills, experience and interest to enroll in it. The current instructor of the course is willing to accept UPB undergrad students who are non-FAs -- that is, if there will be enough prospective enrollees for the course this Midyear. To help UPB undergrad students who are non-FAs to decide, the following are the Course Description and Course Learning Outcomes of FA 141 Production for Electronic Media: Preparation of art materials for audio-visual presentations, television, and film graphics. Lecture and Studio work. Upon completing this course, students must be able to: CLO 1: develop necessary skills for navigating various design software (e.g. Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) to produce electronic media; CLO 2: apply different creative strategies to address design problems in one’s local community; CLO 3: identify modern and historical design concepts to employ in their current creative practice or future career; CLO 4: create an assortment of electronic media outputs (static and animated). In the past semesters and years, there have been UPB undergrad students who are non-FAs that took select FA courses as their Free Electives. As in these courses, there is art making for FA 141 Production for Electronic Media. The outputs of all students, regardless of major, are evaluated using the same set of criteria. The Department of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts (DSCTA) is proud to announce that the special issue of the Philippine Humanities Review on the theme "Speech Communication in the Philippines Now" is now finally live. Ladia, this special issue contains articles developed by the contributors from their paper presentations in the Freedoms of Speech in Asia: 2023 Speech Communication Conference organized by the DSCTA in October 2023 at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Its contents touch on the different pedagogical, theoretical, and methodological paradigms currently animating the discipline of speech communication in the Philippines.
