The College of Arts and Communication invites members of the UP Baguio Community to the Marshall McLuhan Forum Series on Responsible Media on March 28, Friday, 10am-12nn, at the Teatro Amianan. This installment of the Marshall McLuhan Forum is cohosted by the Department of Communication with the Embassy of Canada. It features incumbent McLuhan Fellow Jodesz Gavilan, an investigative journalist and lead editorial researcher of Rappler. She has been a journalist for more than ten years and currently covers human rights and impunity beats, producing in-depth and investigative reports, particularly on the quest for justice of victims of former president Rodrigo Duterteโs "war on drugs." Your voice, our stage! Calling all UP Baguio creatives! Do you want to witness your writing come alive in our campus spaces? Dulaang UP Baguio (DUPB) is looking for unpublished poems, short stories, and drama scripts from UP Baguio faculty, students, REPS, and admin staff for our future performances! We are eager to feature pieces on themes like environment, sustainability, food security, materials, body, land, and space. Works may be in Filipino, English, Ilocano, and other languages in Northern Luzon (Ilocano works and works in other languages in Northern Luzon must have accompanying Filipino/English translations). Selected works will be featured for our upcoming Theater Fest on the last week of April/first week of May. These works will also undergo a script development process with the creative team of DUPB. You will also be notified once your work will be performed by DUPB. Submissions may be sent to our online form in .doc or .pdf. Please use your UP mail to answer the form.
