About The Department
MISSION & VISION STATEMENT
The Department of Language, Literature and the Arts as an academic unit of the University of the Philippines Baguio’s College of Arts and Communication, shall continue to cultivate appreciation and development of the diversity of languages and language research, literary and cultural reading, research and production and of the arts as a whole through upholding the academic ideals of the University and constant improvement of programs to enhance the University’s three-fold function of teaching, research and creative work, and
extension. Through its academic programs—Master of Arts in Language and Literature, Bachelor of Arts in Language and Literature, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts), and Certificate in Fine Arts (Visual Arts)—and the general education and service courses it offers, the Department is envisioned to take significant part in the College’s aim to provide valuable knowledge to students of the University in their attainment of academic training which contributes to local and national development.
Specifically, the Department is envisioned to implement, support and uphold, in uncompromising standards of honor, excellence and responsibility, and with utmost efficiency, the vision of the College in the advancement of dynamism among its faculty and students, specifically in relation to language, literature and the arts.
